Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Engineer role based in Kolkata. The Business Development Engineer will identify and qualify new business opportunities in the power quality, metering, and distribution segments, focusing on industrial customers. Daily responsibilities include visiting client sites, understanding technical requirements, preparing proposals, and coordinating with internal engineering and operations teams to design suitable solutions. The role involves managing the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and presentations to negotiation and order closure, while maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients. The Business Development Engineer will also track market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to support product positioning and strategic planning, and prepare regular reports and forecasts for management.
Qualifications

• Strong Business Development and New Business Development skills, with experience identifying opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline.
• Proven Sales and client relationship management abilities, preferably in industrial, energy, or infrastructure domains.
• Effective Communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid Analytical Skills to assess customer needs, evaluate technical and commercial options, and prepare data-driven proposals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Energy Engineering or a related technical field; a business or marketing qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in power quality, metering, distribution systems, or industrial energy efficiency solutions is highly desirable.
• Comfort with on-site client engagement, frequent local travel, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic CRM tools for tracking leads and opportunities.
