Job Description: Business Manager – New Client Acquisition
Location: Pune / Mumbai
Experience: 3 to 6 years (Recruitment / Staffing industry only)
Role Overview
We are an HR outsourcing firm with business operations spanning over two decades.
For our Recruitment / Staffing business, we are seeking a high-performing Business Manager with proven experience in new client acquisition for contract staffing, strong commercial understanding, and deep industry networks. The role is primarily focused on business development, sales, revenue growth, and margin management across multiple industry verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new client acquisition for permanent recruitment, contract staffing services, RPO, and payroll solutions across IT and Non-IT sectors
- Identify, prospect, and onboard clients through cold calling, cold prospecting, networking, and referrals
- Build and manage strong relationships with CXOs, HR Heads, Procurement Heads, and Business Leaders
- Own end-to-end commercial discussions including bill rates, mark-ups, gross margin, net margin, and EBITDA impact
- Develop and execute account acquisition strategies for industries such as:
- IT / Digital / Product & Services
- EPC, Infrastructure & Construction
- Healthcare / Pharma / Life Sciences
- Automotive & Auto Ancillaries
- Oil & Gas
- Energy, Power & Renewables
- Manufacturing, Engineering & Industrial
- Collaborate with recruitment and delivery teams to ensure timely fulfilment and client satisfaction
- Should have the confidence to generate business from the get-go.
- Track revenue, billing, collections, and profitability for assigned accounts
- Stay updated with market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing benchmarks
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of contract staffing business model
- Clear knowledge of billability, gross margin, net margin, EBITDA, and pricing structures
- Proven ability in cold calling, lead generation, and client hunting
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Well-networked within the staffing and recruitment ecosystem
- Result-oriented with strong business acumen and commercial mindset
Eligibility Criteria
- Mandatory: 3 to 6 years of experience in the Recruitment / Staffing industry (permanent hiring, contract staffing, executive search; RPO exposure is essential)
- Experience in business development/client acquisition roles only
- Exposure to IT and/or Non-IT contract staffing is mandatory
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
This position is strictly for candidates with prior Sales / Business Development experience in the Recruitment / Staffing industry and who are currently based in Pune or Mumbai.
