About the Role
At mCaffeine & Hyphen, we’re looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that all cosmetic products are manufactured, tested, packed, and dispatched in compliance with GMP, company quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role involves managing in-process quality, finished product quality, documentation, investigations, CAPA implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
1. Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with Cosmetic GMP (ISO 22716) and company quality systems.
Monitor manufacturing and packing activities to ensure adherence to approved SOPs and specifications.
Approve line clearance before manufacturing and packing operations.
Review and approve Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Batch Packing Records (BPR).
Ensure implementation of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
2. In-Process Quality Control
Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing and packaging.
Verify process parameters such as temperature, mixing time, pH, viscosity, weight, fill volume, coding, and labeling.
Monitor product appearance, colour, fragrance, and consistency.
Ensure sampling is carried out as per approved procedures.
3. Finished Product Quality
Review QC test reports before product release.
Coordinate product release based on compliance with specifications.
Monitor retention samples and stability samples.
4. Non-Conformance & CAPA
Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and product defects.
Perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram.
Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Track effectiveness of CAPA implementation.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain quality records, SOPs, specifications, formats, and logs.
Ensure proper document control and record retention.
Prepare reports for internal and external audits.
Support regulatory inspections and customer audits.
6. Training
Train production, packing, and warehouse personnel on GMP, hygiene, SOPs, and quality requirements.
Conduct periodic refresher training and maintain training records.
7. Supplier & Material Quality
Coordinate inspection and approval of incoming raw materials and packaging materials.
Handle supplier quality issues and support supplier qualification activities.
8. Continuous Improvement
Monitor quality KPIs such as rejection, rework, complaints, and Right First Time (RFT).
Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and improve productivity.
Participate in quality improvement projects.
Qualification
B.Sc./M.Sc. (Chemistry, Microbiology or Life Sciences), B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or equivalent.
Experience
9-14 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, or FMCG manufacturing industry.
Experience in handling factory quality systems and GMP implementation.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of ISO 22716 (Cosmetic GMP).
Understanding of cosmetic manufacturing and packaging processes.
Good knowledge of QC testing parameters (pH, viscosity, microbial limits, stability, etc.).
Experience in deviation investigation, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of internal audits and regulatory compliance.
Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
HO-based role with regular shop-floor presence.
Coordination with Production, QC Laboratory, Warehouse, Purchase, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs.
Flexibility to support production during shifts or urgent quality issues.
