Role Description The Tekla Modeler will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models and detailed drawings using Tekla Structures for steel and concrete projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting structural and architectural drawings, developing detailed GA and shop drawings, modeling connections and assemblies, and coordinating with engineers and designers to resolve discrepancies. The role also involves ensuring compliance with project standards, performing model checks, preparing material take-offs, and supporting documentation for fabrication and erection. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kerala, India, requiring close collaboration with project teams to meet quality and schedule expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures for 3D modeling, detailing, and generation of GA and shop drawings.
- Solid understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, steel and concrete detailing practices, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, handling RFIs, and resolving technical and modeling issues.
- Good knowledge of related CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) and familiarity with BIM workflows and model-based coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline; prior Tekla modeling experience is highly desirable.
- Willingness to stay updated with new Tekla features, detailing standards, and emerging technologies in the construction industry.
